A surprise Gift

Today Mr. Khan came to my house to take his pet dog coby back. Actually he left his pet to my house because he went to Israel to attend a marriage ceremony of his relative.

Keeping his dog for some days in my house is not bothering for me because it is a small dog of breed Chihuahua, which is a sophisticated and a costly breed as well. Mr. Khan brought a gift for me from Israel. I was surprised and it really made me curious that what he brought me from another country.

That was a small monument made of bronze. That was really a good example Israeli antiques. My family really liked it and I placed in the living room of my house.

Interior of my office

Some days ago there was a grand auction in the new town. Earlier I read about the auction in the news paper and saw the images of the antiques for sell as well.

I suggest in company to buy some of them for the interior of the office but my senior officers told me that buying theses types of antiques will be too expensive and it will affect the budget of the company.

Lastly we decide issue a tender of the interior decoration of our office at local level. It will maintain the budget of the company and the interior of our company office as well.

Creativity of an old man

Lots of people think that collecting antiques requires lots of money and time too; here I want to share an incidence. Last Sunday I was searching for a welder shop because my wife has broken the main gate of our house when she was parking our car.

Luckily I got a welder shop; I asked them to solve my problem. The manager sent a man to my home to fix the gate. I saw a man there who was trying to assemble some iron rods and angles. I asked him about his working, and then he told me that, this order was given by an old man to assemble those iron parts in such a way that make it a show piece for his garden.

I was impressed with his I idea. I was thinking about the creativity of that old man. With some old useless parts he made an impressive show piece for his garden at a very lower cost. It was really an appreciating idea.

Painting exhibition

Some days ago, I got an opportunity to go to an auction of antiques. Actually it was a auction of old antique paintings. I remember last year a friend of mine bought a wall painting in an auction in a massive price.

I reached there before the bids and saw the paintings in the exhibition hall. Some of them were really rare of their kind and much expensive as well. I like a poster there which was painted in “madhubani” style, which was Indian pattern of paintings.

I bought one of them from the exhibition because, it was not too much expensive and I was sure that it will be harmonized with the interior of my home.

Care of antiques jewelries

To take care of the antiques jewelry which has gemstones, I want to tell you some important points.

First of all check the gemstone or diamond is secure in its claw in which it is mounting. Hold the item in one hand and use a fingernail to just touch the diamond. If it's loose you'll see it rock or move. This will need to be repaired by your jewelers, who will tight the claws. An old soft toothbrush and warm soapy water is ideal to remove the grease, dust, grit and dead skin that fills the gaps and indentations around the stone anchors of a ring or other item of jewelers.
This works equally well for almost all types of gemstone, including, ruby, emerald and sapphire.

A gentle brush, even an artists brush is infinitely preferable to using a cloth from which threads can be snagged and pulled. If a thread gets caught in a claw, it can bend or weaken the grip of the claw and stones can be lost weeks or months later.

Collecting antiques

Apart from the professional life, I am crazy about collecting antiques. Even you can find lots of precious monuments and antiques in my home. Whenever you are planning to buy any antique, you should keep some facts in mind for a good deal

Make a point of studying books and catalogues (even old ones) on your subject, then attend a few auctions, be sure that your choice of antiques on the viewing days before the auction was god. Always give enough time to visit and explore the antiques shops, both before and after any auction sales. This way you will gradually be able to review what quality items are accessible and the prices being currently asked.

Make a point of chatting to interested peoples, or well-known collectors, about what has happen after the auction. Sometimes people can gain a lot of useful guidance about particular pieces. Being a collector of antiques, I felt that it needs lot of attention, search and patience to buy something because you can never buy any so costly thing without a prior study about it.
